Dry summers mean more salt

High salt in Stoney Creek is above provincial guidelines.

John Templeton has been monitoring the water quality in Stoney Creek for five years. During this year’s dry summer, the measured conductivity was over the provincial guidelines for the protection of aquatic life for several weeks.

At the recent Stoney Creek Environmental Working Group meeting, Alan James showed an 8-minute video [124 MB] he made to provide background and to encourage authorities to deal with this ongoing problem.
